Tordrillo Mountain Lodge - Explore Alaskan Summers

Luxury travel has become more family-focused than ever, with more than half of luxury travelers traveling with children under 18, according to The Olinger Group’s “U.S. Luxury Travel Study 2022,” and those kids are increasingly influential in planning the daily activities, destination, and hotel choice.

For families looking for a unique way to visit untouched parts of Alaska this summer, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Summer vacations at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge begin with a quick 45-minute floatplane ride from Anchorage to Judd Lake, where guests find an incredible, private lodge and multi-sport complex in the heart of the Alaska wild – 60 miles from any road.

From July through mid-September, families can create custom itineraries, choosing from guided activities such as spectacular glacial hiking only accessible via helicopter to walk among some of Alaska’s oldest magnificent ice formations, otter plane trips into three different national parks – Denali, Katmai and Lake Clark – where families can spot moose, nesting bald eagles, Dall sheep, brown and black bears, beluga whales, beavers and hundreds of bird species that call the surrounding area home, climb Alaska’s first Via Ferrata, nestled between three glaciers with helicopter drop off and pick up, and guides leading the way to reach stunning views of the Tordrillo Mountain Range and, watersports such as whitewater rafting, waterskiing, foil boarding, and wakesurfing just minutes from the lodge.

Fishing

One of the most popular summer adventures at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge is heli-fishing. Whether guests are looking for the quintessential Alaskan salmon fishing tour or an adventurous heli-fly fishing trip like no other, TML’s guides custom curate a luxury fishing experience of a lifetime.

A helicopter fishing trip is a one-of-a-kind way to find the perfect spot in remote rivers of Alaska where expert guides help guests of all levels of experience cast a line for Alaskan King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Pacific Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Grayling and more. Anglers will enjoy the many waterways surrounding the lodge by heli-accessed wade or float fishing trips in the Tordrillo Mountains, which are home to many rivers and streams and serve as sanctuaries to a variety of freshwater species. Aboard a helicopter, it takes only a few minutes to reach some of the richest fishing holes in this remote area. And guides tailor each day of fishing based on what’s running at various drainages and streams. If nothing’s hitting, you’re on to the next spot.

Camp TML

This summer, TML has developed a program specifically for younger travelers. Camp TML features outdoor adventure activities for families traveling with children ages 8-16. These 3-, 4- and 7-day sessions are small, private “camps” where children are grouped by ages 8-12 and 13-16 to learn new outdoor skills based on their interests such as watersports, rock climbing, fishing, rowing, kayaking, nature walks, gardening, lawn sports, painting, and hiking – all from Tordrillo’s top guides. Gear and safety equipment of all sizes are available.

Accommodations

Summer packages include round-trip flights from Anchorage, a 5,600-square-foot main lodge with a large dining area, bar, and three cedar decks overlooking the lake where families gather before and after their daily adventures, gourmet meals, professional guide services, adventure gear and fishing equipment, yoga, access to the fitness center, hot tub overlooking the lake and a wood-fired sauna.
