This year, as the iconic Rolls-Royce Phantom celebrates a remarkable 100 years, the marque has unveiled a creation befitting its legendary status: the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, a masterpiece limited to just 25 examples worldwide. More than a car, it’s a mobile archive, a breathtaking fusion of history, art, and engineering that pays homage to the world’s most revered luxury automobile, commissioned by royalty, visionaries, and cultural icons.

A Journey Through History
The creation of this collection involved the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective immersing themselves in Phantom’s rich lineage, researching its influential clients, pivotal moments, and significant models. This deep dive into the archives yielded 77 distinct hand-sketched motifs, each representing a defining chapter in Phantom’s first century. These motifs become the heart of the interior, translated through intricate techniques like laser etching, couture textiles, and delicate embroidery, turning the cabin into a personal museum.

Crafted by Gold and Glass
The Centenary Collection is adorned with exclusive details that speak to its rarity. The Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, inspired by the 1925 original, is cast in solid 18-carat gold, plated in 24-carat gold, and features a unique hallmark from the London Assay Office. Even the engine bay hosts a custom cover finished in Arctic White and detailed in 24-carat gold, symbolizing the seamless power beneath. The exterior boasts a unique two-tone finish with iridescent particles of crushed glass and champagne-colored metallic flakes for unparalleled depth, while the disc wheels are engraved with 25 lines each, totaling 100 lines to mark the centenary.

The Anthology Gallery
Perhaps the most innovative feature is the dashboard’s Anthology Gallery, a display of 50 three-dimensionally printed aluminum fins. Each fin carries sculpted letters forming quotes from a century of glowing press reviews, a testament to Phantom’s enduring engineering, silence, and presence, requiring bespoke printing technology and typography expertise.

A Legacy Secured
This collection represents the most complex and ambitious private commission ever undertaken by Rolls-Royce, involving over 40,000 collective hours of creation and three years of development. Priced at approximately $3 million, all 25 examples were spoken for before their official reveal, confirming that the Phantom Centenary is not just a car but a moving manifestation of a century of automotive romance, a priceless piece of art for the most discerning collectors.
