The revolutionary X Class from Princess Yachts debuted in the Summer of 2020 with an entirely new concept in yacht design, the X95. The X95 ushered in a new benchmark for luxury living space in a yacht. Following in the wake of the X95 is the latest addition to the “Superfly” family of Princess Yachts, the X80. Scheduled for a global debut at the Dusseldorf show in early 2022 she will follow with a North American premiere in late 2022 with several orders already being placed in advance of her arrival. Like the X95, the X80 is a departure from the traditional while retaining all the attention to detail and exceptional performance that Princess has set the bar with.
For the X Class, Princess partnered their long standing naval architect, Olensinski, and the iconic design heavyweights at Pininfarina, to create yachts that evoke a feel of perpetual motion, making a statement no matter where they travel. The X80 has an open feel unlike any other boat in this size range. Large windows usher in a tremendous amount of light on all levels and provide the ultimate view for owners and guests, whether enjoying a beautiful anchorage or cruising the blue waters of the Caribbean. The X80 is the perfect platform for entertaining as well, featuring abundant interior and exterior space and the ability to choose from many options to customize her layout to taste.
The X80 comes standard with four staterooms all with ensuite bathrooms, a full beam master, as well as a day head. An optional “on deck” master creates a fifth stateroom and allows for access to a private bow seating area for the owners. The salon is a masterful blend of oversized windows, elegant furnishings and gorgeous cabinetry with again several arrangements to choose from. The galley is equipped with top notch appliances and has a retracting partition that allows it to be open to the salon or shut off for formal service by crew when desired. A spiral staircase leads from the main salon to the “sky bridge” where a secondary salon can be found in addition to the fully enclosed helm and raised adjoining settee. Large overhead skylights bring the outside in and cove doors give the ability to close off the helm area forming a pilothouse.
Aft of the upper salon, large doors open to what is known as the “superfly” bridge allowing these two areas to seamlessly flow together for an incredible space. Large dining tables for alfresco dinners as well as a variety of settees, lounges, and water toys can all be specified for this area to the owner’s liking. Wide side decks lead forward of the pilothouse where an additional oversized seating and sunning area can be found for guests to enjoy! A stairway at the aft end of the flybridge leads back down to the main salon deck level and a wonderful shaded aft deck. A large covered settee with table makes for a comfortable spot to share lunch and cocktails on a hot day while watching the family swim off the oversized hydro-electric swim platform.
The X80 does have crew quarters aft which are accessed through a water tight bustle door and provide a variety of layouts depending on how many crew are desired. Just forward of the crew is the exceptionally well laid out engine room where you’ll find twin MAN V-12 1900hp engines that allow the X80 to boast a top speed of 31 knots. With an 1,861 gallon diesel capacity she provides exceptional range and was designed to be versatile at both slow and fast cruise speeds.
