Can One Tiny Car Problem Wreck an Otherwise Good Week?

Now, needless to say here, you buy luxury to have luxury, to get the benefits out of it. Even if you’re using a luxury car buying service to get your luxury car, you clearly have standards and want those standards. It’s about the actual perks, rarely about the price tag or brand (well, for a lot of shoppers at least). So, with luxury cars, it’s supposed to feel like the nice part of life, right, the part that feels a little indulgent, a little rewarding, a little like all the effort is paying off.
Well, that’s the fantasy anyway. But what they don’t picture, of course, is something incredibly stupid and incredibly small being the thing that wrecks the whole week. Because that’s usually how it goes. It’s just those little things that shouldn’t be happening, considering the price tag on this car.
It’s Never the Big Fantasy Problem
That’s probably the part that gets under the skin the most, because luxury and classic cars come with this quiet expectation that the experience should feel smoother, more put together, a little more elevated than regular life. Which makes sense, considering the amount you're paying and the expectations you have here. So when the problem turns out to be something like a missing key, a fob refusing to cooperate, or a lock deciding today is the day it wants to be difficult, it feels ridiculous in a way that’s hard to explain without sounding slightly offended by the whole thing.
So when something goes wrong, be it small or large, it’s basically an insult, because a luxury car shouldn’t have this. Honestly, even a non-luxury car shouldn’t be either (as the price tag for those is quite high as well). But sometimes, expensive car ownership shows up as an insult. Thankfully, it’s not always like this, of course.
Convenience is Still the Most Luxurious Thing of All
You go for luxury for so many reasons: the branding, the craftsmanship, the status, but convenience absolutely shouldn’t be left out in this, however. Just go ahead and picture yourself for just a second here; you’re checking yesterday’s coat pocket, opening the same drawer three times for no reason, retracing steps around the house, and panic-searching things like can you replace a car key by VIN number online because you cant find your keys and you’re not going to immediately resort to a locksmith becaus your knws your keys are somewhere, but where? You need to get into your car.
Here’s another one: you can't find your way, but the infotainment system isn’t working, or it’s cold, and you want heated seats, but they’re not working. You want that convenience, you paid for that convenience, and these conveniences were supposed to be a luxury to you. So, of course, you’re irritated (if not feeling stronger emotions) because you had an expectation here.
Even Classic Luxury Cars have Terrible Timing
If you collect classic cars, then this one is definitely for you. While newer cars have convenience, classic cars are what turn heads (and a rolling piece of personality, too). But at the same time, they can be a mild burden on you emotionally, too. Just sometimes, it feels like the car picked the worst possible moment to become irritating, which, of course, is usually what happens. Such as wanting to do a weekend drive, ot before guests arrive, or even showing off your car at a car show or meet up (the worst of them all).
