Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club, one of Discovery Land Company’s 27 international projects, is an 800-acre private community tucked into the rolling green hills outside of Austin. Texas Hill Country’s towering oak trees, native wildflowers, prickly pear cacti, and massive 50-foot cliffs above a flowing creek are the backdrop to this exclusive 310-residence community, which also features a Tom Fazio golf course, Outdoor Pursuits, world-class dining, and access to the most beautiful landscapes in the American Southwest. Driftwood’s physical footprint is split between two parcels, the Creek and the Ranch, with distinct characteristics appealing to a variety of lifestyles; however, the club’s community, programs, events, and amenities are united.
The Creek Amenities
Driftwood’s Creek parcel offers a wide variety of amenities. Members can pick up household goods at the Driftwood Market, freshen up in the spa, or take a group class at the fitness center. The spa facilities include multiple treatment rooms, an aesthetician studio, and luxury locker rooms with lounges, saunas, hot tubs, and cold plunge pools. The center also includes medical concierge offices for a comprehensive wellness and healing program.
Driftwood’s Clubhouse is located at the heart of the social scene and serves as the perfect spot for members to meet new friends, get to know their neighbors, and spend quality time with family. Featuring a wine room, a bar, a chef’s table, and multiple outdoor patios, this rustic yet contemporary space invites members to relax and reconnect. The Cliff Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a sunset margarita before heading over to the Songwriter’s Studio to enjoy an exclusive listening party at the studio’s performance stage.
Members can also spend the day at the Activity Barn, an indoor recreation facility that includes a climbing wall, bowling lanes, and half-sized basketball court. Driftwood’s youngest members will also enjoy access to an art studio, media room, theater, and arcade. During a warm summer’s day, members can enjoy the Family Pool Complex which offers a lazy river, water slide, splash pad, and cabanas. Driftwood’s farm grows assorted fruits and vegetables for the dining outlets, as well as individual plots for members to grow and enjoy their own personal gardens. The Farm will offer classes to educate members about growing their own food and sustainable practices to adopt in their homes.
The Ranch Amenities
Driftwood’ Ranch parcel is centered around the 18-hole Tom Fazio designed golf course. Located at the center of the practice facilities is the Golf House, a social hub for pros and golf enthusiasts alike. After gearing up at the pro shop, members can enjoy a round of drinks at the bar while watching the PGA Tour on multiple screens. A large patio features plenty of lounge areas surrounding a roaring firepit. Nearby sits the Teaching Studio where members can master their swings from a team of golf professionals. For more solo practice, the Short Game Park features three acres of grass, fairways, approaches and water features.
The Golf Clubhouse will feature a signature restaurant, indoor and outdoor bar areas, and a private dining room. The unrivaled locker rooms are social hubs in their own right, with saunas, hot tubs, cold plunge pools, a full bar, and luxurious lounge area. Members can meet up after a round of golf on the Outdoor Barbecue Pavilion and Event Lawn to savor panoramic views of the golf course for special events and entertainment.
Outdoor Pursuits
The Outdoor Pursuits at Driftwood offers on-site activities like fishing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and disc golf courses. Head to the Racquet Courts to play tennis, pickleball or padel. The packed program of wilderness activities is designed for families to create memories together and is led by a local team of dedicated experts.
At Your Service
Whether members are looking for concierge services like planning travel or booking appointments, the Member Experience Team does it all. From dinner reservations, full party planning services, plane charters, and arranging for personal chefs, Driftwood’s attentive team has it handled. The Residential Services Team optimizes member homes whether they are on-site or off by overseeing and coordinating internal and external home services such as housekeeping, pool service, pest control, and more. From the moment the member arrives through the gates, their fridge and bar will be stocked, the pool temperature set, golf cart charged and the home in order so they can immediately start enjoying their time together. Additionally, with health and safety top priorities at Driftwood, the on-site security and medical staff is a team of highly-trained individuals ready to assist 365 days a year.
Driftwood Downtown
Driftwood Downtown is Discovery Land Company’s first private city club in downtown Austin. The club serves as a venue for entertainment, coworking, and meeting spaces, with full bar services, complimentary amenities, and exclusive events. All three levels – tap room, main level, and private rooftop – include full-service bars, lounge spaces, and televisions. A complimentary comfort station keeps members fueled up to hit a few rounds on a state-of-the-art indoor golf simulator. Special member events include happy hours, singer-songwriter showcases, golf simulator tournaments, pop-up retail shops, theme nights, and more.
Sustainability
Sustainability is inherent to Driftwood’s DNA. Since water is an important natural resource in central Texas, Driftwood is building an injection well that will take harvested rainwater from around the community and put it directly back into the ground, ultimately recharging the groundwater. Private residences and amenity buildings will partake in the rainwater harvesting system to use for irrigation on the golf course and throughout the community. In addition to the property’s water conservation efforts, Driftwood is prioritizing environmental stewardship through its culinary program. Director of Culinary Operations, Chef Jim Tripi, is curating a hyperlocal menu that is farm-to-table culinary redefined. Driftwood’s kitchen ingredients will be sourced from the onsite regenerative farm, fruit orchards, apiary, and chicken coop. If it’s not found on Driftwood’s property, the culinary team partners with local ranches, mongers, farmers, and craft artisans to create a true taste of Texas.
