JEWELS - A Rare Gem, is Added to the Turquoise Fleet of Yachts

Turquoise Yachts is proud to share an expanded portfolio of images of the recently delivered 53m JEWELS

JEWELS’ exterior, with her elegant sharp lines and clear geometry, is the design work of Miami-based DeBasto Designs, and her sumptuous interior design is the creation of London- based H2 Yacht Design in collaboration with the yacht’s owner.

At 720 GT, JEWELS offers a fantastic amount of interior and exterior space commensurate with yachts that are usually much larger.  She offers 8 + 1 guest staterooms, while the exterior deck areas are spacious and designed for entertaining  both large groups as well as intimate gatherings. “No one will feel lost,” says Luiz DeBasto, principal of DeBasto Designs. The Sun Deck offers around-the-clock entertainment with a hot tub, sun-pads, TV, day head, bar and acres of open space.

“The interior design brief was established early in the design process with the client favouring a traditional yacht aesthetic combining classic teak joinery with gold inlays, bevel -edged mirrors, colourful textiles and highly decorative stones,” says James Bermudez from H2 Yacht Design.

JEWELS features a lavish interior with intricate detailing and a high level of craftsmanship. The yacht’s general arrangement is unique and highly personalised, using all available space to maximise guest accommodations. Five guest cabins occupy the lower deck as the typical beach club area was eliminated in order to achieve an extra guest cabin. The main deck has a traditional layout with main salon, spacious full beam owner’s suite and  a neighbouring VIP stateroom. On the bridge deck an extra 2 cabins have been added between the bridge and the upper saloon providing accommodation for 18 guests in total.

In the owners’ suite, stained teak window framing and door architraves are combined with bulkhead panels of flame mahogany and burl sycamore, all finished in high gloss lacquer and accented with gold inlays. Built- in furniture is embellished with gold rope detailing and warm honey onyx. In the bathroom amazonite marble panels sit on a backdrop of giallo siena stone together with teak joinery and more gold detailing.

On the lower deck, guest cabins are colour themed; green, purple, and red with gold textiles mixed in with the teak and walnut burl veneers. In the bathrooms the decorative themes continue with the use of bold- coloured marbles along with gold details and appointments.

Aft of the main salon is the formal lounge area with richly decorated furnishings.  Gold giallo siena marble flooring links the communal areas of the main deck The formal dining area is forward of the salon and  is flanked by beautiful built-in storage cupboards and large windows. The colour turquoise is used to accent the furniture and curtains. All in all there is a sensation of opulence throughout.

On the bridge deck, the upper salon offers a more open informal lounge experience, helped in part by the full beam architecture and windows and its connection to the aft exterior deck space. The colour theme here is French blue combined with deep gold textiles  and complimented by further use of the rich frame mahogany panelling and gold trim.

The interior decorative stairwell, with its burl timbers, giallo siena marble, custom carpets designs, decorative mirror treatments and gold balustrades is in the centre of the yacht linking all three decks.

The owner of JEWELS was a frequent visitor to Turquoise Yachts and extremely hands-on in the interior design process. The owner discovered, with the help of our interior and projects teams, that Istanbul and its environs is a wonderful place to find exotic textiles, marble and much of his desired interior appointments. In fact, he himself visited our suppliers and picked out all of the new material selections. JEWELS is clearly a testimony to a wonderful collaboration among the yard, the designers and the owner.
