Legacy Harbour Marina, positioned along the Caloosahatchee River in downtown Fort Myers, is moving into a significant new phase of its redevelopment with the launch of its slip inquiry waitlist. The marina is now accepting inquiries through Dockwa, a digital platform widely used by marinas and boaters across the country. This marks an important step forward for Legacy Harbour as its full reconstruction continues following the severe damage caused by Hurricane Ian in 2022.

Once a well-known homeport for boaters traveling Florida’s west coast, Legacy Harbour was left in need of extensive redevelopment after the storm. Today, AIRN Management Co. LLC is guiding the project, working in partnership with Bellingham Marine to rebuild the marina from the ground up. Construction began in early 2025, and the marina is projected to reopen in the first quarter of 2026, offering an updated, modernized experience for visiting and seasonal boaters.

A major part of the redevelopment focuses on a complete redesign of the marina’s infrastructure. When finished, Legacy Harbour will feature 131 slips accommodating vessels from 40 to 150 feet. The new design incorporates Bellingham Marine’s Unifloat concrete wave attenuator system, a feature engineered to support stability and reduce the impact of river conditions on the marina. The system will be anchored with 70-foot steel piles, adding further resilience to the structure. Interior slips will be built using a Unideck aluminum frame dock system paired with WearDeck synthetic decking, materials chosen for durability and reduced long-term maintenance.

In addition to structural updates, Legacy Harbour’s redevelopment includes a series of utility enhancements aimed at improving the overall boater experience. These upgrades include potable water service, in-slip pump-out, fire suppression systems, fiberglass dock boxes, and access to both single- and three-phase power. The new features are designed to meet the needs of a range of vessels while creating a safer and more functional environment throughout the marina.

Spanning roughly 13 acres of riverfront, Legacy Harbour’s central location provides direct access to the Gulf of Mexico and sits within walking distance of the Fort Myers River District. The combination of waterfront access and downtown convenience has long made the marina a valued stop for boaters, and the redevelopment aims to restore and enhance its appeal when it reopens in 2026.

Partnership with Dockwa is a significant component of this next chapter. By bringing its reservation and communication process onto Dockwa’s platform, Legacy Harbour is introducing new levels of convenience, connectivity, and visibility. Through Dockwa, boaters can submit slip requests, join the marina’s waitlist, and manage all inquiries directly from the platform’s website or mobile app. Dockwa also supports digital contracts, secure payments, and real-time communication between marina staff and boaters. This integration places Legacy Harbour within Dockwa’s nationwide boating network, helping connect the redeveloped marina with both returning boaters and those discovering it for the first time.

To keep boaters informed during redevelopment, Legacy Harbour has launched a new website at fmlegacyharbour.com. The site provides updated project information, historical context about the marina, visual renderings of the forthcoming design, and a direct link to Dockwa for slip inquiries. As construction continues, the website will serve as a primary source for updates and details on the marina’s progress.

Boaters interested in securing a future place at Legacy Harbour Marina can now join the waitlist by visiting fmlegacyharbour.com and selecting “Request a Slip.” Slip reservations will open closer to the marina’s 2026 reopening.

As redevelopment advances, Legacy Harbour is preparing to reintroduce itself as a refreshed, strengthened, and fully modern marina—one ready to welcome boaters back to the heart of Fort Myers’ riverfront.
