Perrelet - Double Rotor Clothed In Blue

Double Rotor technology, the signature feature that has forged the current reputation of Perrelet timepieces, is highlighted in the classic “First Class Double Rotor” collection.

The technical innovation represented by the first Double Rotor movement was developed in 1995 –after five years of research and development – in tribute to Abraham-Louis Perrelet, who founded the brand in 1777.

The double oscillating weight enables the mechanism to draw its energy from the two rotors. The first is positioned beneath the caliber, while the second is visible on the dial side, thus enabling its owner to observe the rotation of the two perfectly synchronized oscillating weights powering the barrel and ensuring more efficient winding force. More than 20 years after its introduction, this innovation continues to surprise observers with unique creations that express the Perrelet tradition through an exclusive and contemporary style.

The First Class Double Rotor collection, presented last year in a new style featuring a steel case with smooth, flowing lines and a silver-toned or black dial – as well as in a 77-piece pink gold limited edition with a “Skeleton” dial created to celebrate the 20th birthday of the Double Rotor – appears in a new 2016 variation.

The elegant 42 mm-diameter stainless steel case frames a refined dial in a new cobalt-blue shade, against which the second rotor, rhodium-plated and finely adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif, stands out with distinct clarity. The center of the rotor features the 26th movement jewel which serves an important mechanical function in that it helps avoid the wear caused by friction, as well adding a brightly colorful touch. The dial swept over by central hours, minutes and seconds hands, as well as displaying the date at 6 o’clock, features a finely grained finish in the center, while the hours ring – bearing applied hour-markers – is adorned with a vertical guilloché motif.

The First Class Double Rotor is powered by a Manufacture Perrelet automatic P-181-H movement beating at 28,800 vph, with a 42-hour power reserve and water resistance to 5 bar.

The watch is fitted with a blue alligator leather strap secured by a folding clasp bearing the Perrelet name, or with a stainless steel bracelet.

The First Class Double Rotor is a timeless classic, synonymous with reliability and excellent finishing guaranteed by prestigious and ever-evolving watchmaking expertise.
