Astronauts & Angels in Monaco

My Yacht® Group continued its series of intimate Astronaut Dinners, returning to Monaco to showcase Axiom Space, with not one but two astronauts captivating the attention of a very select group of guests. Two incredible dinners, in conjunction with Monaco Private Label at the Hermitage Hôtel, and aboard a private superyacht, preceded an Angelic Evening celebration with Château d’Esclans at the Yacht Club de Monaco.

Uniquely qualified U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame and 4-time astronaut, Michael Lopez-Alegría - with 257 days in space and 67 spacewalk hours - spoke about the life-changing effects of a journey to 250 miles above the earth, while taking a short break from an intense training schedule ahead of his next launch. February 2022 sees Commander Lopez-Alegría become a 5-time space traveler as he helms Ax-1, Axiom’s first fully private mission to the International Space Station.

He was joined by 2-time NASA astronaut Nicole Stott, who has spent 104 days in space, is the 10th woman to perform a spacewalk, and the first person to paint a watercolor while orbiting the earth at 17,500 mph! Back on earth, in addition to being a NASA Aquanaut (as a crew member on an 18-day saturation dive mission at the Aquarius undersea laboratory), she has continued her artistic pursuits as an author, painter and through her Space for Art Foundation that focuses on Space, Art, and Healing, creating ‘Artonauts’- children creating art together from hospitals, refugee centers, and schools around the world.

Following the intimate yacht dinner, that welcomed guests with magnums of Perrier-Jouët, Thursday evening saw yacht and jet owners, select UHNWI, and VIP guests of Moët Hennessy enjoying an Angelic Evening at the esteemed Yacht Club de Monaco. With sparkling views over Port Hercules from a ballroom bedecked with enormous flower arrangements plus large-format bottles, guests enjoyed an incredible selection of Château d’Esclans rosé wines, from worldwide favorite Whispering Angel to the award-winning Garrus. Key figures on hand to ensure the perfect pour were Sacha Lichine, Alain Riviere, and Paul Chevalier. A mouth-watering menu by famed truffle connoisseur and Michelin-starred Chef Bruno proved the perfect complement, while live music & singing from Nouba Music kept guests dancing and the ambience lively throughout.

Official charity partner for the evening YachtAid Global has become the recognized leader in facilitating yachting industry-wide engagement and collaboration for disaster relief and recovery, humanitarian aid, and conservation management efforts across global coastal communities. Their incredible work spans the globe from the Galapagos Islands, to Fiji, The Bahamas to Indonesia, New Zealand, and more.

My Yacht Group and Axiom Space will continue to host The Astronaut Dinners in a series of global cities in the coming months.
