The impact a good set of tires has on your vehicle

When talking about someone’s car, the last thing you think to ask is what set of tires they’re currently running. It’s not something that’s normally thought about or discussed much when talking about cars, so are they a big deal?

Whether you’re talking about your car with friends or at a dealership looking at a new one, the last thing people will think about is what tires are currently on it. However if you look into it, having a good set of tires can completely change how the car drives and feels, and when looking for tire deals online, you can find them at a decent price too.

For many, tires are pretty much either an afterthought or even an inconvenience when it comes to their car. The thought of taking it down to a tire shop to get them replaced just feels like throwing money down the drain, when in reality it’s much more important than you think.

In this article we’ll be taking a look into just how important having a good set of tires can be for your car, what impact it has and what are the benefits to having good tires.

Safety

Probably the main point on this list is safety. When it comes to tires, having a new decent pair of tires could be the difference between your car stopping before an accident and it not. If you’ve got an old worn-out pair of tires on your car, they’re going to have less traction and grip, and therefore have a harder time slowing down at high speeds.

A good new pair of tires will have much more grip and traction and will be able to help you slow down when breaking much easier as you’ll be at less risk of skidding. This also goes for going round corners at higher speeds, as the better traction will allow your car to stick to the road and avoid slipping or drifting wider.

Although they feel like an inconvenient payment, they can be the difference in dangerous situations.

Maintenance and costs

When running older worn-out tires, this can actually do more harm than good to your wallet. Over time, using run down tires can have a negative impact on your car and cause damage. As the tires get worn, they do so at different speeds and shapes, meaning this can cause your tracking to become off and cause damage to your suspension.

Ensuring you have a good set of tires on can prevent this, whilst also ensuring you’re not getting any additional damage whilst going over bumps and drops in the road which could cause damage to your rims.

Performance

As briefly mentioned, when talking about safety, the tires on your car can drastically affect the performance of your car. Having a good set of tires means your car is much more likely to stick to the road when going round corners and at higher speeds, meaning you can take corners more quickly and also accelerate out of them without the risk of spinning out.

With more grip on each tire, this also means when accelerating off the line, your car will be more likely to accelerate faster as your wheels won’t be skidding and can grip the floor as it pushes off.

Comfort

There’s nothing worse when driving than feeling every bump and crack in the road and bouncing around on your seat. Having a decent pair of tires helps to mitigate this and allow them to absorb some of the shock and bumps, meaning you’ll be able to enjoy your drive in peace.

Tires are more than just a moving component of your vehicle. They ensure your vehicles safety, help its performance and ensures you have a comfortable drive.

It’s clear having a good set of tires is a must, will you be investing in some good quality tires?
