Tutima’s new chronograph Caliber T659 with Tempostopp
Tutima celebrates its ninetieth anniversary with the debut of the Tutima Tempostopp.
Three years in the making, this latest masterpiece from Tutima revives a grand tradition. Tutima’s new Caliber T659 is a reminiscence of the Glashütte UROFA Calibre 59 from the 1940s, which was developed for the historic Tutima Flieger chronograph and which made that watch into the first German chronograph with Tempostopp and additive stopping. The legendary pilot’s watch came to epitomize sturdy robustness, reliability and precision.
Now this success story continues at Tutima’s original location with the debut of Caliber T659. Uniting the latest technologies and the virtues of the watchmaker’s art as traditionally practiced in Glashütte, all 236 parts of this exquisite movement are specially engineered, fabricated and finished on Tutima’s premises.
Thanks to the complex additional flyback function, which was known by its German name “Tempostopp” when it first debuted in the 1940s, the chronograph’s elapsed-seconds hand can be started, stopped, and returned to zero with only one push of a button. This lets the user measure immediately successive intervals and makes numerous repetitive commands superfluous. This model’s name refers to the horological challenge that has been mastered and to the quality promise that has been upheld by consummate manufacturing technology “made in Germany”.
The 18 karat rose gold case contains Tutima Calibre T659, which animates a new wristwatch that is aptly called the “Tutima Tempostopp” and that perfectly unites beauty and enduring value. The fine case and dial recall the elegant understatement, classical elegance and artisanal artistry of time honored Glashütte watchmaking. The exterior is so deceptively sleek that it takes a connoisseur to intuit the presence of unconventional technology inside the watch. The new Tutima Tempostopp proudly carries the legendary chronographic art into the future and embodies another golden achievement at the brand’s renowned original location.

Tutima M2 Pioneer
M2 Pioneer Chronograph
Nothing can shock it.
Functional, reliable, tough; the Tutima M2 Pioneer Chronograph is an evolution of the NATO Chronograph Tutima developed in 1984 that has outstandingly delivered excellent performance all over the world for decades. The M2 Pioneer now steps forward to continue this success story.
The star attraction is the movement: The M2 Pioneer’s power source is a TUT 521 automatic caliber featuring an innovative and proprietary reconstruction of the dial train which creates an easily legible central sweep minute counter for the chronograph. Housed in a 46.5 mm solid titanium case with a sapphire crystal and screw-down case back, the mechanical movement is protected from shock, dust, moisture, and even from strong magnetic influence and is water-resistant to 30atm.
Nighttime is even something that the M2 Pioneer beautifully masters: the hands displaying both, the time and the chronograph functions, as well as the hour markers, are coated with Super-Lumi-Nova. A striking distinguishing feature is the easily gripped rotating bezel outfitted with 14 luminous capsules, and a large reference dot at 12 o’clock which make the set timing intervals clear and easy to read even if it is fully dark. The chronograph integrated push buttons with neoprene inlay have the addition of a non-slip, ribbed surface and a crown with a better grip groove system.
The M2 Pioneer chronograph is a timepiece that always provides more functionality than expected. This is proven by a closer look at the version that comes on a solid titanium link bracelet: the model is delivered in a box that contains an additional, ultra-robust Kevlar strap as well as a set of tools for changing the bands.

Tutima Saxon One Chronograph
The Saxon One is a wristwatch full of character –
sporty and elegant at the same time – it is the highlight
of the new “Made in Glashütte” collection.
A significant and particularly noteworthy feature of this model is the elaborate mechanism that Tutima developed to tally elapsed minutes from the dial’s center. Alongside the outstanding structure of its stainless steel case, this watch also sparks enthusiasm with numerous other details. Marked with Tutima’s signature red stroke and able to rotate in two directions, the bezel embodies a consciously understated design which reaffirms this model’s exclusive character.
Sharp lines of light dominate the steel architecture and separate the finely satin-finished from the polished surfaces. The three-dimensional, pyramid-shaped case achieves a harmonious transition to a subtly designed rotating bezel.
The mechanical movement of the Saxon One is outfitted with automatic winding and offers a power reserve of 48 hours. The heart of the chronograph is Tutima’s own caliber Tutima 521. The movement is shock-protected and water-resistant to 20 atm underneath a screw-down case back with a sapphire crystal window. The slightly domed crystal above the dial is also made of sapphire crystal and is anti-reflective on both sides, showcasing every detail of the dial with its applied markers and fine scales.
The Saxon One is a perfect companion for every day wear or evening occasions and is available as a three-handed automatic in a 42-mm case and as a – slightly larger- chronograph, outfitted with a choice of opaline silver-white, anthracite or royal blue dial as well as a stainless steel link bracelet or hand stitched reptile strap.
The Saxon one is additionally available in a ladies version measuring 36mm in diameter with mother of pearl dial, which stands out in its elegance, particularly when outfitted with a diamond-set bezel.
Tutima Grand Flieger Classic Chronograph
A legend, retold.
In no other timepiece of Tutima’s current collection is there so much pilot DNA as in the Grand Flieger Classic Chronograph, which directly descends from the legendary Tutima pilot’s chronograph of 1941. The Grand Flieger Classic is created with exactly that perfection which has made the predicate “Made in Glashütte” into a world-famous promise of quality.
The most noteworthy addition to this new chronograph is what happens after the watch is fully assembled. In accordance with German DIN standards, each fully finished chronograph must pass a 15 day climate test, to earn its title as a Certified Chronometer. “Chronometer” is a special classification issued to highly accurate watches like the ones developed for early maritime travel. The test, performed in 5 controlled environments, evaluates the accuracy of each timepiece in 5 different positions with temperature variants ranging from 8-38 degrees Celsius and an average daily deviation allowance of -4 to +6 seconds for every 24 hours.
Every Grand Flieger Chronograph bears the engraving “Chronometer” on the case side and is presented with a Certified Chronometer Certificate assuring that the watch meets strict guide lines of accuracy and timing.
The Grand Flieger classic in the typical vintage look includes a coin edge rotating bezel and reference marker. The reserved typography of the matte black dial paired with contemporary luminous hands as well as the haptic quality exudes history. Its diameter of 43mm is much larger in dimension than the original and is of course outfitted with a modern automatic movement chronograph cal. Tutima 320, which can be viewed through the transparent case back. Additional details include the classic aviation rotor with gold seal, 48 hour power reserve when fully wound, date display, hour, minute, small second. Chronograph 60 second counter, 30 minute counter and 12 hour counter.
Sweep second counter. All timepieces in the Grand Flieger line are water-resistant to 20atm and are available on stainless steel bracelet or leather strap.
A model variation called the Grand Flieger Airport with a smooth rotating bezel and 60 minute divisions is also available.
