Serenity and calm were the central themes guiding the renovation of a classic home situated on a 360-foot, west-facing lakefront property on Lake Washington. Undertaken by a newlywed couple, they embraced the home’s potential with enthusiasm. Working together with the design team, the goal was to transform the property while preserving architectural integrity.
The renovation process involved a comprehensive redesign that redefined the home’s interior layout. The kitchen was relocated to optimize the space, and the original windows were replaced with Italian-made steel windows, which added a contemporary touch while enhancing the home’s connection to its picturesque surroundings. Every surface in the home was updated, including new finishes, millwork, and lighting, all chosen to modernize and lighten the palette throughout the rooms.
The living room is a focal point of the renovation, featuring impressive 24-foot ceilings and a striking northern Italian steel window wall that frames breathtaking views of the lake. The choice of fabrics in hues reminiscent of an oyster shell anchors a variety of finishes that seamlessly flow throughout the home.
