WINTER WONDERLAND - Sun Valley

SUN VALLEY

In the landing zone, the deafening sound of the rotor blades silences everything except your anticipation. Snow flying, hand signals directing skiers and pilot in a carefully orchestrated sequence as the chopper disappears off the horizon and then... silence. It’s just you, your friends, our guides, and thousands of acres of untouched powder.

Sun Valley Resort

Founded in 1936 as America’s first ski destination resort and nestled in the Smoky Mountains of south-central Idaho, Sun Valley is an outdoor utopia, offering year-round recreation, culture, dining, and shopping. Outdoor adventure enthusiasts can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snowshoeing, swimming, mountain biking, hiking, golfing, fishing, shooting, horseback riding, trail running, and over 40k of groomed Nordic trails. A skiers’ paradise with over 2,054 acres of skiable terrain, 3,400 vertical feet of constant pitch, almost no lift lines, and two mountains, Bald and Dollar, Sun Valley offers something for everyone.

Bald Mountain challenges skiers and riders of all abilities, while Dollar offers the perfect setting for first-timers and families with numerous terrain parks and gradual pitches. Getting to Sun Valley is easy with nonstop flights between Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN) and seven major cities – Seattle (SEA), Portland (PDX), San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX), Denver (DEN), Salt Lake City (SLC), and new this winter, Chicago (ORD). Guests staying at the resort receive complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport, just 14 miles south in Hailey. Once here, Mountain Rides provides free public transportation to all the base areas and locations around town.

Warfield Distillery & Brewery

Situated on the corner of Main Street and Sun Valley Road in the center of downtown Ketchum, Warfield Distillery & Brewery founders Alex Buck and Ben Bradley craft an eclectic mix of old world beer and spirits. Warfield's copper still turns out exceptional spirits including the much loved No Return Gin and forthcoming whiskey. The iconic corner boasts a comfortable stylish dining room and second floor deck complete with fire pits and the best view in town. Executive Chef Sean Temple heads the culinary program and focuses on local, seasonal proteins and produce with over 90% of the menu sourced from small Idaho farms.
