According to an article on Cyprus Mail, CryptoProcessing by CoinsPaid — one of Europe’s leading crypto payment gateways — has launched a closed pilot program introducing point-of-sale solutions that enable cryptocurrency payments in physical stores. The pilot is currently being tested in Estonia using Flowgate technology, a POS ecosystem designed specifically for in-store crypto payments. The first installation is planned for Kuldan, a jewelry retailer based in Estonia.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and everyday retail transactions. Customers will be able to pay with digital assets, while merchants can choose how they want to receive the funds — either in fiat currency transferred to a bank account via SEPA or SWIFT, or directly in crypto to their wallets. By leveraging Flowgate’s infrastructure, the solution allows retailers to test crypto acceptance without the need to overhaul their existing checkout systems.

CryptoProcessing by CoinsPaid can be implemented in several formats depending on business needs. Merchants can use traditional POS terminals, SoftPOS systems, QR-based payments, or API integrations. The platform supports both small pilot deployments in single locations and larger rollouts across multiple stores. Transaction fees are structured according to processing volume, keeping costs competitive.
