Cucina by Casa Tua Takes its Next Act Across America

Casa Tua has always known that elegance is more interesting when it loosens its collar. A beautiful room improves when it fills with lively people; dinner is savored when it runs long and the tablecloth collects a few wine stains; and the kitchen, rather than something to hide behind swinging doors, is something worthy of a bit of theater. That philosophy is on full display at Cucina by Casa Tua, where the kitchen takes center stage: open, animated, and alive with the energy of everyone around it. Now, twenty-five years after Casa Tua first opened its doors in Miami Beach, the stage is getting considerably bigger.

Following the opening of Cucina by Casa Tua Wynwood this spring, the group is taking its lively dining and market concept across America, with forthcoming locations in Brooklyn, Beverly Hills, and Boston. The settings are grand, the scale is ambitious, and the premise remains remarkably simple: if Casa Tua is the home, Cucina is its kitchen.

“Casa Tua was built from the way Leticia and I lived in our own home…how we welcomed people, how we ate, how we entertained, how we brought friends together,” says co-founder Miky Grendene. “Cucina comes from that same place. The kitchen was always the center of it all.”

At Cucina, chefs work in full view, moving between stations with the practiced choreography of a cast that knows its roles by heart. Pasta is tossed, fish comes off the grill, plates make their way across the counter, and guests watch it all unfold from just a few feet away. There is no backstage here, and that is precisely the point.

The effect is an invitation into the process. The people preparing the food are as much a part of the experience as the people eating it, and the exchange between the two gives Cucina its particular electricity.

“For us, it starts with our people,” says Grendene. “When the team feels proud, and when they feel seen and celebrated, they work differently. And when you invite guests into that experience, they feel it too. The connection creates something powerful for everyone, and somehow the food tastes better for it.”

The feeling may be warm and spontaneous, but the numbers behind it are formidable. At the original Cucina in Miami’s Brickell City Centre, approximately 3,000 guests pass through each day—more than one million a year—placing it consistently among the highest-grossing restaurants per square foot in the United States.

This April, Cucina crossed Miami for its own second act, opening in Wynwood. The new outpost has quickly settled into the neighborhood as the kind of place that can play a different role depending on the hour: coffee at the counter, lunch between meetings, an afternoon aperitivo, dinner that stretches to a nightcap. It is destination dining without demanding an occasion.

That combination—something special enough to seek out and easy enough to return to constantly—is now traveling far beyond Miami.

First stop: Brooklyn.

In 2027, Cucina will take over the historic One Hanson Place, the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank building and one of Brooklyn’s great architectural landmarks. Steps from Barclays Center, the soaring former banking hall will become a 28,000-square-foot world of eating, drinking, and entertaining, with a 500-seat restaurant spanning the ground floor and mezzanine and another 350 guests accommodated in private dining rooms, lounges, and event spaces below. It is a setting with old-world grandeur and distinctly New York proportions, a fitting backdrop for Cucina’s particular brand of beautiful commotion.

For a restaurant that likes a little theater, it is difficult to imagine a more dramatic room.

Developed in partnership with Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, the team behind Barclays Center, Cucina will trade the quiet of the old banking hall for open kitchens, bustling tables, clinking glasses, and the particular hum of several hundred people having a very good time. The bones of the landmark remain; what changes is what happens inside them.

The opening will also give Casa Tua two distinctly different expressions in New York. Across the East River on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, its restaurant and private members’ club at The Surrey offers the intimacy and discretion of the original Casa Tua experience, tucked inside one of Madison Avenue’s most storied hotels. Brooklyn gets its more exuberant sibling: bigger, busier, and with the kitchen proudly out front.

Next, Cucina travels west.

By early 2028, Cucina will arrive in Beverly Hills as a major anchor of One Beverly Hills, the $10 billion development taking shape in one of the world’s most famous zip codes. Here, even by Cucina standards, the proportions are impressive: approximately 22,000 square feet and 450 seats spread across indoor and terrace dining.

Its neighbors will be equally notable. Developed alongside globally recognized names including Aman, Dolce & Gabbana, Hilton, and Cain Capital, One Beverly Hills is being conceived as a new meeting point for hospitality, fashion, wellness, and luxury living. Cucina will sit squarely in the middle of it.

By then, Casa Tua will have established another home nearby. The original restaurant and members’ club concept, which grew from Miami Beach to Aspen, Paris, and New York, arrived in Capri in April 2026 at the storied Hotel La Palma. Venice follows in early 2027, with a new Casa Tua club planned for Beverly Hills later that year.

In Los Angeles, similarly to Miami and New York, the two sides of the family will live only minutes apart: Casa Tua, intimate and discreet; Cucina, expansive and wonderfully alive. Different expressions, same instinct for bringing people together around a table.

And then the tour continues.

In Boston, Cucina will anchor the resurgence of Copley Place, one of the city’s most prominent luxury destinations. Developed with Simon Property Group, the approximately 17,000-square-foot flagship will lead a transformation of the former Neiman Marcus space in Back Bay, steps from Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library and surrounded by the polished storefronts of one of the city’s most elegant neighborhoods. It will join a new mix of retail, dining, and wellness concepts as the development unfolds through 2028.

“What has allowed us to grow is that we have never started with the idea of scale,” says Grendene. “We start with how we want people to feel. If you protect that, you can build something very large without making it feel large.”

That feeling is the through line. From a villa in Miami Beach to a 28,000-square-foot former bank in Brooklyn, the ambition has remained remarkably intimate: to make a room full of people feel entirely at home.

Twenty-five years after Miky and Leticia Grendene first opened their doors, the Casa Tua world is entering its most ambitious act yet. The rooms may be grander and the audience considerably larger, but the invitation remains the same: come in, take a seat, and stay awhile.

The kitchen is open, dinner is served, and the show is just getting started.
