Gacek Design Group - The Value of the Experience

Founded in 2005, Gacek Design Group is owned by Richard Gacek, a 38 year veteran of interior design and architectural consulting. As Principal Designer, Richard is well known for blending natural elements with timeless and classic design.

Influenced by the history of architecture, Gacek Design Group is mindful of the value of an experience. Every design is carefully researched to create a story that is authentic. This practice always delivers exclusive and elegant interiors that evoke an emotional response. Key elements are developed to define the way people want to live today...and the results reflect interior designs that are simple with clean lines, comfortable, and adaptable.

Richard Gacek is a native of the Boston area who attended the exclusive St. Sebastian’s Country Day School in Newton, MA. His early childhood years were remembered exploring the natural surroundings and being mindful of the environment. It also was a time where Richard Gacek fondly recollects his curiosity with local structures, paying close attention to how building environments were constructed and how they looked.

Richard Gacek attended the State University of New York at Buffalo where he studied Architecture with an emphasis in Architectural History. It was no mistake that Richard Gacek was drawn to the Buffalo area, home to some of the greatest American architects of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, (in Buffalo NY, you can experience the works of Louis Sullivan, H. H. Richardson and Frank Lloyd Wright to name a few). Richard’s studies guided him to the examination of the Darwin D. Martin House. This complex exemplifies Frank Lloyd Wright’s finest illustration of the prairie style. It is here where Richard Gacek learned from the curator, to analyze structures as well as stained glass techniques that are inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s studies in Japan. This is reflected throughout the style of architectural expression.

After graduating from the State University of New York, Richard Gacek relocated to suburban Philadelphia where he established a co-partnership with an interior design firm. Richard Gacek played a key role as creative director and interior designer. During his eighteen year tenure, Richard concentrated on supporting the homebuilding industry and received numerous local, regional, and national awards for his interior design excellence. With the creation of his memorable model homes, sales centers and clubhouses, Richard Gacek became recognized as a leader in the industry. His concept to create a “story” for each model home visually conveyed his design inspiration and made it compelling and differentiating in the marketplace. His innovative interior design and positive work ethic resulted in the expansion of his professional services to include substantial residential estates, (including celebrities), yacht and air craft interiors, vacation homes, as well as hospitality designs.

In 2005, Gacek Design Group was established. With Richard Gacek as principal designer and owner, he continued to expand his services and showcase his architectural talents. He quickly became a collaborative resource for commercial and residential clients looking for architectural consulting and participation during all stages of pre-construction and construction. Through his extensive network, Richard Gacek established resources that span the globe. He has designed custom furniture and cabinetry, wall coverings, and upholstery. His vision resonates today with projects that range from a classic apartment design in Paris to a 15,000 square foot castle in Park City. Our portfolio is diverse.
