Audio is at the heart of TikTok, with around 90% of creators indicating that sound is an important element of their content. Whether it be a catchy song clip, a remix, or a humorous audio snippet, the right soundtrack can provide a major boost to a video's chances of going viral. For creators trying to build followers there is nothing easier than aligning themselves with 'trending' sounds.

You can Directly search in TikTok App

One of the best and easiest ways to search trending audio on Tiktok is you can use TikTok's search feature. Just go to the magnifying glass icon and type "viral sounds" for reels. After the results give you a list, switch over to the Sounds tab. TikTok will show you what popular audio clips are trending, including how many videos have already been produced on that track, giving you a sense of anything that may be trending, and how much a sound may be saturated.

Look On Your For You Page

You’re For You Page is also the best way to search and find (better known as your FYP"), is also an easy and simple way to find trending audio. By watching and scrolling through a number of videos, you'll see which Tiktok sounds come up quite frequently, and these will be the sounds you'll want to use as repeated audio snippets show that a sound is becoming popular.

Best of all, you don't need to be an intentional, proactive finder - TikTok will even curate trending sounds in your FYP for you.

Check the TikTok Sound Library

Once you are ready to make some videos, head into TikTok and press the "+" icon. Once in the creation section, select "Add sound" This will open the Sound Library for the platform, featuring playlists like "TikTok Viral" or "Featured". Playlists will highlight the audio that is trending right now.  Just remember while some playlists will be available for all users, available playlists will vary based on each user's preferences. Exploring every category can help you discover trending tiktok sounds tailored to your region and personal interests.

Use TikTok's Creative Center

TikTok's Creative Center is a more numerical perspective being real-time highlighted trending sounds, not the basics of playlists, and allowing you filter trending sounds by country/region as well.

You can also determine which trending sounds are moving forward compared to last week and repeated historical examples. Allowing you to evaluate whether a sound is building interest, trending upward, or slipping down after hitting its peak.

While the Creative Center can be a great tool for brands/creators minimalizing their GDP base burning inventory, I also think it delivers even more for brands/creators ensuring that they are being strategic and aligned with audience interest.

The Significance of Trending Sounds

Trending audio is not simply white noise, but rather a driver for growth. By using the right sound at the right moment, you can exponentially increase your chances of making an appearance on TikTok’s for You Page, garnering new followers, and attaining engagement.

TikTok has even changed the music business, taken songs and turning them into viral clips because nothing causes a song to take off like a snippet blasting off on TikTok.

TikTok has led to several songs jumping up the streaming charts based solely on the TikTok exposure. TikTok can make songs that are much older relevant again based on trends that revisit them and repurpose them.

By being aware of what sounds are trending, creators can best position themselves to ride the unpredictable nature of TikTok culture.

There are many methods for how to keep an eye on trending sounds, including but not limited to: searching for them directly, casually scrolling through your FYP, scrolling through the entire sound library on TikTok, and checking the trending sounds through TikTok's Creative Center tools.
