The Luxurious Lives of Famous Pampered Pets
The luxury pet product industry is a thriving business. According to market.us, the global pet accessories market is predicted to be worth $6.3 billion by 2032.
From customized skin treatments to branded designer products, the rising demand for premium products and services for pampered pets is astronomical. Pet parents pay no heed to the costs to ensure their fur babies get the best.
And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Some pooches have earned the right to be living the high life as their owners monetize their social media influence and online following.
Below, we’ll take a look at the luxurious lives of famous pampered pets.
Instagram Famous
Miss Peaches started her life as a rescue pup. Her Instagram handle proudly says, “I went from the outhouse to the penthouse.” Miss Peaches is a pitbull mix and her famous dad is Barstool Sports President Dave Portnoy. To say she came into wealth is an understatement.
With a dazzling smile, she’s already accumulated more than 1.4 million followers. Besides being the fur baby of a millionaire parent, Miss Peaches is a fashion influencer. She recently collaborated with Muck Boots to release a $65 limited-edition slip-on clog featuring her adorable mug.
So, how exactly does her dad maintain her world-famous smile? Professional dental cleaning for dogs can run into $350 if done by a veterinarian, says USA Today. That’s a drop in the ocean for Portnoy.
For us lesser beings, the best way to clean a dog's teeth is by brushing them to ensure your dog's dental hygiene. It’s the most effective way of removing plaque and preventing bacteria from spreading into the blood vessels.
Veterinarian Dr Sam Jones suggests brushing your dog’s teeth twice a day to keep your dog's mouth healthy. This doesn’t exempt them from going for regular checkups to the vet. A dog's mouth can accumulate germs over time and result in dental disease.
Don’t use toothpaste containing xylitol as it can cause liver toxicity in dogs.
Dog toothpaste differs from the human variety as it doesn’t have active ingredients meant to be spat out.
Another option is dog tooth wipes to keep away bad breath. The wipes fit over two fingers, making it easy to wipe and teeth clean, advises Jax & Cali. Dental treats and dog chews are also effective.
Nepo Felines
And here we were shocked at the preferential treatment nepo babies got. We should have kept an eye on their pets instead.
Meet Chip. He has his own Instagram account and was recently seen in the movie, Argylle. Did we mention Chip’s famous parents? That would be German model Claudia Schiffer and her British director husband Matthew Vaughan.
Chip has a pretty cushy life. The Scottish Fold kitty is often seen rubbing paws with Hollywood A-listers. Even his diet is high snobbery. Chip sips on high-grade Gold Top Milk.
We can’t mention Chip without letting a few more names slip through. Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button are just as famous as their superstar mom. Also a Scottish Fold, Olivia Benson is reported to have a net worth of $97 million.
Not that we’re jealous but these felines think they’re the cat’s whiskers. All three cats have appeared numerous times on Swift’s social media feeds and music videos.
Swift loves her kitties so much that when she took on the role in Cats, she said, “I just thought, like, I gotta do this.”
Dog Nannies
Mom of two Kylie Jenner is also a pet parent to seven fur babies. During an interview with famous pal Jennifer Lawrence, she admitted hiring a dog nanny for her four-legged companions was the best decision she made.
Her animal farm continues to grow. Alone with the seven Italian greyhounds, she owns four chickens and a bunny. No wonder she needed a nanny.
The makeup mogul spares no expense when it comes to her fur babies. Jenner only lets them drink purified water and treats them to the best doggie eateries in Beverly Hills.
She made headlines a few years back when she built a house for them, complete with air conditioning, a porch and a picket fence.
Dearly Departed Clones
Barbra Streisand admitted several years ago that two of her dogs were clones of her beloved Coton de Tulear, Samantha.
The singer said she used cells from Samantha’s mouth and stomach before she died to make the clones. She told the Associated Press Samantha’s death was “like losing a child.”
Following her revelation, PETA released a statement condemning her actions. The organization said cloning a pet contributed to the homeless animal population crisis.
There you have it. From purified water to custom-built homes, these pets are living the lives of the rich and famous. Luxury is the norm while the rest of us can only dream.
