Troubadour Golf & Field Club - Best of Both Worlds

Troubadour Golf and Field Club is a countrywide escape that offers an ideal blend of calm country living and city entertainment.

Troubadour, located 35 minutes south of Nashville, Tennessee, blends the unique love of outdoors with the urban vibe from the “birth place of country music.” Nashville is an an artistic haven for musicians and music lovers alike, and the city is bursting with 24/7 live music, weekly concerts, sports games, and incredible dining.

“We are seeing people move specifically to Nashville to live at Troubadour,” says Johan Kok, VP of Sales for Troubadour Golf and Field Club.

An exclusive, private community on 980 acres, Troubadour encompasses 375 residences, an 18-hole Tom Fazio golf course, world-class culinary offerings, and family-friendly events, and year-long programming and activities. The community is developed by Discovery Land Company, a Scottsdale-based international luxury developer that creates communities based on the company-wide pillars of golf, outdoor adventure, sustainability, culinary greatness, and family-focused memories in private and highly sought-after locations. Like all Discovery properties, Troubadour is fully equipped with on-site medical and member services.

Many of Discovery Land Company’s 18-hole golf courses are designed by world-renowned golf architect Tom Fazio and are home to professional golfers such as Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, and Jordan Spieth. Discovery Land Company’s golf tradition is a beloved part of every community, with no tee times and no dress code. Courses are also peppered with the brand’s signature “comfort stations,” abodes that house myriad snacks, treats, drinks, and even margarita machines for refueling between holes.

“At Troubadour, the golf holes are routed on rolling hills, along spring-fed creeks, and are framed with natural rock outcroppings and trees,” Fazio says. “The golf course really captures the natural beauty of the area and the Tennessee countryside.”

Troubadour’s comfort stations also cater to a southern comfort lifestyle with fresh grilled cheese and tomato soup, fried chicken, fresh fruits and vegetables, and delicious homemade cornbread.

During the summer, Troubadour’s Summer Songwriter Nights is a popular member event, and the club hosts Roadhouse on the Rocks on the weekends for artists to gain a coveted chance to sing at the community’s restaurant among artists such as Trace Adkins, Runaway June and Larry Fleet, Cole Taylor, Josh Smith, and Kat Higgins.

Music-loving members at Troubadour can enjoy the best of Nashville’s music culture in an intimate and exclusive outdoor amphitheater, which features both up-and-coming and well-known artists. Members are also welcome for an outdoor show and a glass of vino at nearby Arrington Vineyards, founded by country music legend Kix Brooks.

Troubadour’s events aim to celebrate the local culture. Activities such as live concerts in the park, family field days and themed golf events are designed to bring families of all ages and abilities together. Troubadour’s variety of family-friendly Outdoor Pursuit activities include go carts, archery, skeet shooting, do axe throwing, fishing, and horseback riding– which members can enjoy all in the same afternoon. Troubadour also offers yoga, basketball, pickleball, and state of the art gyms, with plans to build a spa and family barn in the future. Troubadour’s organic garden harvests vegetables and herbs for use when possible for their restaurant, The Roadhouse, with plans to expand over the next few years.

Many members are moving to Troubadour as their primary residence. Families have moved out of big cities into states like Tennessee for the space and security provided by low-density housing and on-site amenities and services. Out of the 375 homes at Troubadour, 169 lots have been sold. 125 of those already sold have plans to make Troubadour their primary home.

Gigi Levangie Grazer, NY Times bestselling author, screenwriter, and television producer, describes her love for Music City in a few thoughtful words. “I think my husband and I were in a daze from the moment we stepped foot in Nashville, mesmerized by the energy of the city, the kindness of strangers, and the sense that life was worth living. It’s almost like what I imagine Los Angeles used to be – where young, ambitious people headed because that’s the city where anything was possible and dreams would come true and you could live your best life; I feel the same way about Nashville today.”
