F1 fans can enjoy all this season’s races on television, but there’s nothing like being at the track to soak up the atmosphere and feel close to the action. If you want to get a great view of the top Grand Prix events as part of a special trip, where should you go?
Sao Paulo Grand Prix - November 3
The Interlagos Circuit in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo is the setting for round 21 of the 24 meetings in the 2024 F1 calendar. This means that it could prove to be a crucial race in terms of the overall standing this season. The Brazilian Grand Prix of 2005 saw Fernando Alonso clinch the championship, while the 2006 event was a dramatic finish as Michael Schumacher surged through the other cars although he wasn’t able to stop Alonso from winning the title again.
Sao Paulo is one of the world’s biggest and most vibrant cities, with a particularly strong reputation for its restaurant scene. The Michelin Guide Rio de Janeiro & São Paulo 2024 gives two stars to both Evvai and Tuju while several other restaurants in the city have retained the two-star rating they earned previously.
Las Vegas Grand Prix - November 23
The Las Vegas Grand Prix was introduced in 2023 as a night race. It takes place on an exciting temporary street circuit that runs in and around the legendary Las Vegas Strip. Max Verstappen won the inaugural event and it’s race day 22 this year, meaning that the outcome could have a major impact on the overall season.
While in Las Vegas, you might want to visit some of the world’s most famous casino resorts, where gambling games are joined by theatrical shows and other special events. It’s worth bearing in mind that you can bet on Formula 1 races online. Upcoming races are shown, with odds on the winning driver and winning constructor. You can also place a bet on your chosen driver coming home in one of the top three places if you aren’t convinced that they’ll win the race.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - December 8
The 2024 season draws to a close at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Day-night races are held here, ensuring a unique atmosphere as night falls while the drivers are racing. The championship may be settled by the time the teams get here, potentially leading to celebrations like those in 2013 when Red Bill Racing had won the championship and David Coulthard took his car onto the helipad at the Burj Al Arab hotel to spin some doughnuts.
Yas Island is home to the Ferrari World theme park, where F1 fans can check out more than 40 attractions. They include the fastest rollercoaster on the planet and the tallest loop ride. The island is home to several other theme parks like SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, so there’s no shortage of things to do here.
Taking a trip to see any F1 race is sure to be a special occasion but the three we’ve looked at here should be among the highlights of the 2024 season.
