Katsuya - Hollywood

Katsuya at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, features the dynamic pairing of Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi and world-renowned designer Philippe Starck. A slight departure from its flagship Brentwood location, the décor at this locale is a bit more provocative – a reflection of its Hollywood environs. Patrons can choose from multiple seating areas, either in the main dining room by the sushi bar, or the more moody Dragon Lounge for both cocktails and dining. In addition to dining within the restaurant’s stunning interior curated by world renowned designer Philippe Starck, Katsuya Hollywood features off-site catering, so guests can enjoy the restaurant’s renowned fare at any location.

The Dragon Lounge is a favorite of many guests which is frequently used for private parties, additionally the Hollywood location has two private dining rooms playing host to smaller, more intimate gatherings. Being in the heart of Hollywood, you feel the bustle of the wide-eyed visitors to the city as well as born and bread Angelenos walking by along the Hollywood Walk of Fame which surrounds the venue.

The menu was designed by Chef Katsuya Uechi and features traditional Japanese-style dining, including selections of sushi, tempura, and robata-grilled items. Known for his inventive style and expert execution of traditional Japanese sushi, Uechi is a trendsetter in the contemporary sushi world. Katsuya, his collaboration with sbe, the leading global lifestyle hospitality company, has become a touchstone for hip dining in not only Southern California, but also Miami and the Middle East.

Chef Uechi skillfully evolves Japanese sushi and robata classics with inspired dishes including Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño and Miso-Marinated Black Cod. Katsuya’s award-winning mixology program includes signature cocktails like the Burning Mandarin with hand-crushed serrano chili and The Dragon with yuzu and ginger. The curated cocktail program used nothing but the freshest juices and ingredients.

Katsuya was named one of the Best New Restaurants of 2007 by Travel + Leisure Magazine and heralded as “one of the most exciting restaurants to open in Los Angeles in years” by Food & Wine Magazine the same year. With new locations in Miami, Las Vegas, Nassau and Dubai, Katsuya’s expert cuisine has become known internationally. Chef Uechi brings over three decades of culinary and restaurant-operation expertise to his role at sbe. In addition to Katsuya, Uechi currently operates Katsu-ya, Izaka-ya and Kiwami restaurant concepts.
