L. Leroy - The Osmior Retrograde Perpetual Calendar

The name “OSMIOR” refers to an ancient alloy of metals, mostly composed of gold with a color comparable to platinum. This material was regularly used by L.Leroy to make the cases of its “Grand Complications” watches and it was therefore natural that the Company chose this name to designate the classic line of its collections. The Osmior line perfectly expresses the values of elegance, finesse, discretion and absolute quality that are reflected in the timepieces we produce in small quantities in our workshops. Several types of complications are offered in this product line dedicated to the expression of our horological passion. From the Single-button Chronograph with column wheel, to the Retrograde Perpetual Calendar or to the automatic Tourbillon Regulator which are some of the exceptional pieces available in the Osmior line signed by L.Leroy.

The Retrograde Perpetual Calendar in the Osmior collection by L.Leroy is a model with a strong aesthetic identity characterized by a high attention to details. Its apparently simple case recalls the shape of the pocket watches from the 1920s-30s but updated to the 21st century while maintaining that family air that brings it back to this historic brand, founded in 1785. L.Leroy, French by birth, is now of Swiss adoption.

The case that identifies the Osmior collection refers to the “Directoire” style: the caseband is flat and recessed with respect to the bezel and the case back, the lugs are bevelled and slightly flared, the crown is engraved with the double “L” of the Maison’s logo and has grooved notches along its circumference to facilitate the grip.

The Osmior Retrograde Perpetual Calendar has a sober and refined dial with a guilloché pattern in the central part and large Arabic numerals along the smooth band, reminding us the ones of Leroy’s museum. The retrograde perpetual calendar function can be read instantly thanks to the clever arrangement of the indications on the display. Day and month are visible in two rectangular windows at 9 and 3 o’clock, respectively. The date is indicated by the retrograde hand on a 240° arc and the leap year by a round aperture at 12 o’clock. The beautiful moon phases indication at 6 o’clock is in gold setting on Goldfuss plate, a semi-precious stone.

A classic and refined aesthetic for this exclusive timepiece that is enhanced by the use of precious material such as 18k 4N rose gold te. The Osmior Retrograde Perpetual Calendar features three dial color variations: silver on white and rose gold case, black on rose gold case. An additional champagne-colored dial is offered on the rose gold case only. This shade of color can be found in the ancient 19th century pocket watch models created by L.Leroy. According to the versions, the Arabic numerals are blue or white while the hands are blued or golden.

This exclusive timepiece is powered by the in-house automatic movement, calibre L411.2 beating at 28.800 vibration per hour, with double barrels offering over 48-hour power reserve.

The sapphire crystal porthole on the case back let you admire the bridges with the traditional “Côtes de Genève” decoration and the open-worked oscillating mass in 22k rose gold which is embellished with the L.Leroy logo.

The Osmior Retrograde Perpetual Calendar timepieces are individually numbered and come with a blue or black alligator leather strap with pin buckle customized with the L.Leroy logo.

For watch enthusiasts in search of exclusive, classic and elegant timepieces, produced in few pieces a year, the Osmior Retrograde Perpetual Calendar is an extraordinary horological masterpiece which honors the legacy of its prestigious, century-old legacy, updated to meet contemporary needs.
