The Vintage Club - A Legacy of Excellence

Leading with a supreme location, perfect winter weather, an iconic clubhouse, enviable membership and 36 picturesque golf holes by master designer Tom Fazio, this club in the California desert truly embodies its name.

The Vintage Club, located in Indian Wells, California, was established on the traditions of excellence more than 40 years ago. It continues its legacy of excellence through its members and their ongoing dedication to the dream that became the ultimate aspiration of the successful entrepreneur. Like this club’s pinnacle position among its peers, the club’s members share similar positioning among their professional peer groups. In 1991 a seasoned member once stated, “If there’s a common thread to the membership it’s that most everyone is a self-made success”. This acclamation remains steadfast in the generations that have followed the club’s early beginnings.

This 712-acre enclave epitomizes a desert oasis nestled against the backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains. It was designed first and foremost to host a merited lifestyle centered on relaxation, golf, tennis, fitness, and social interaction throughout its exquisite amenities. In 1980 the first Fazio course, the Mountain Course, was ready for play. The Desert Course followed by opening for play in March 1984. The Tennis and Swim facilities were launched for use in November of 1985, now with the addition of Pickle Ball. The most recent of the club’s amenities is the club’s 18,000 square foot Spa and Wellness Center offering full-service fitness, spa and salon space balanced by a carefully selected team of health and fitness professionals. Other added club amenities include Bocce Ball, Shuffleboard, a dedicated dog park with agility course and an equipped children’s park.

The crowing jewel of The Vintage Club is its 85,000 square foot architecturally awarded clubhouse opened on New Year’s Eve 1983. The clubhouse was recently rejuvenated in 2016 incorporating 21st century upgrades while paying homage to its iconic design. The clubhouse remains the center focal point of the club’s social scene and is one of the few privately held clubhouses that can accommodate their entire membership at a single event. Within the clubhouse and beyond the grand Crystal Ballroom are the men’s and women’s well-appointed locker-room lounges, an amazing pro shop, the casual LakeView Grille and alfresco dining on The Pointe. The highly regarded Security operations, Homeowner Association Management, and club management offices are also located within the structure. Located adjacent to the Tennis and Swim complex is the full-service Palm Court restaurant and the club’s grab-and-go venue, the Vintage Market. Another favorite is the in-home catering and event planning that is available to members only.

The members of this exclusive and secure residential community purchased the club from its developer in 1987 and it has since been managed by its members and their dedicated staff for the member’s sole enjoyment. Real estate, while not the initial focus of the overall club’s design, provides onsite living to its residents only members. The community offers homes embodying diversity in design and square footage from carefree condominium living to palatial estate homes. Membership in the club requires nomination by two existing members and the nominee’s purchase of real estate within the club’s community. These requirements limit the number of members to residential doors. The club’s membership was founded on friendship and family with members bringing friends to share in a centered lifestyle. Now, with an ever-growing number of generational members adhering to this growth pattern, the legacy of this club continues to thrive.

A club that operates at full throttle November through May, shifts gear during the long hot desert summer. Summer continues to be the time of revitalization where numerous elements of the club’s amenities and grounds are treated and prepped for the oncoming season. Likewise, the member homeowner also uses this window of opportunity to revive their residences by redecorating, renovating and in some cases razing the residence to create a newly built home. Each member homeowner through careful planning and implementation, shares a common appreciation and commitment to maintain both club and home to preserve an optimum value in both.

Paramount to the club’s continued success is their much-admired team of qualified golf, tennis, fitness, and culinary professionals that are supported daily by a dedicated team of employees. The team’s common goal is to ensure each member and their guest enjoy every moment spent here.
