Blue Run Spirits Introduces Blueprint Series - New Flagship Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Blue Run Spirits is charting a bold new course with the introduction of its Blueprint Series, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey designed to embody both the brand’s innovative ethos and its commitment to craftsmanship. The release sets the tone for what the company envisions as an evolving exploration of flavor, technique, and boundary-pushing creativity in American whiskey.

At 105 proof (52.5% ABV), the Blue Run Blueprint Series is a carefully constructed blend that brings together two distinct mashbills: a traditional wheated bourbon and an experimental recipe affectionately known within the company as the “Founders’ Mash.” The result is a whiskey that balances familiarity with innovation, offering a layered and dynamic drinking experience that appeals to seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The blend was created by Shaylyn Gammon, Blue Run Spirits’ Head of Whiskey and Innovation and one of the most decorated women in American whiskey. Known for her ability to deliver premium expressions that challenge expectations, Gammon approached the Blueprint Series as both a creative exercise and a foundational statement for the brand’s future. A key component of the blend is an 80/15/0/05 bourbon laid down during the early days of Blue Run Spirits. Aged on a lower warehouse floor, this whiskey contributes a fusel, fruit-forward character that grounds the blend with richness and depth. This is complemented by the experimental Founders’ Mash, as well as a top-floor-aged wheated bourbon, which together introduce an interplay of woody heat and soft, rounded texture.

On the nose, it opens with soft floral aromas and subtle orchard fruit. The palate reveals warm baking spice layered with notes of juicy apple and cinnamon, while the finish lingers with toasted oak, gentle spice, and a hint of dry wood heat. The complexity is matched by versatility, with the bourbon performing equally well whether enjoyed neat, over ice, or as the foundation of a classic Old Fashioned.

The bourbon is housed in Blue Run’s signature French-cut glass bottle, accented with precious metal elements and the company’s iconic viceroy butterfly emblem. The packaging serves as a visual representation of the themes of creativity and transformation that underpin the series.

With a suggested retail price of $69.99, the Blue Run Blueprint Series is positioned as an accessible premium offering.

The launch marks a defining moment for Blue Run Spirits as it continues to expand its footprint in the American whiskey landscape. Founded in Georgetown, Kentucky, the company has quickly gained recognition for its award-winning bourbons and its willingness to challenge conventions in both blending and design. Accolades from major competitions, including ASCOT, TAG Global, and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, have helped establish Blue Run as a modern force in the industry.
