Coors Whiskey Co.

If Father’s Day invites us to honor what came before us and ask what comes next, consider a father-son conversation that sparked a new chapter in one of America’s most enduring beverage families. This Father’s Day, Coors Whiskey Co. invites a look at how one family continues to honor its roots while building on the grit, ingenuity and craftsmanship that have defined the Coors name for five generations.

When David Coors, great-great grandson of immigrant founder Adolph Coors, asked his father, Peter, why the family didn’t make whiskey, the answer was clear: “Because we’re good at one thing, and that’s beer.” David saw a clear link between brewing and distilling, however, and persevered, blending whiskeys at his kitchen counter with Coors malt and Rocky Mountain water.

Twenty years later, the multi-award-winning Coors Whiskey Co. is evolving with a portfolio that honors the heritage and innovative spirit of the Coors family, including Barmen 1873 Bourbon which pays tribute to Adolph’s birthplace in Prussia and the year he emigrated to America. Plus, Kentucky-based Blue Run Spirits, acquired by Molson-Coors in 2023 which appeals to modern whisky drinkers with award-winning variety.

Plus, Blue Run just released their Blueprint Series, a 105 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a combination of two unique mashbills: one wheated, and the other, an experimental mash that pays homage to Blue Run’s boundary-pushing nature.  At $69.99, the new addition to the family is a perfect gift for Dad.
