TALUS - La Quinta

A new residential resort development is coming to the sought-after California desert at a time when demand for homes in the region is at an all-time high. TALUS La Quinta, formally SilverRock La Quinta, is being developed by San Diego-based The Robert Green Company, the same developers who brought to life the first Pendry Hotel to San Diego.

TALUS La Quinta will deliver a heightened level of luxury and personalized service to the Coachella Valley, including two branded luxury and lifestyle hotels and 84 turn-key single-family detached and paired homes. This development will mark the first new luxury hotel product since the 1960’s in the Coachella Valley, a region where the average age of a luxury hotel is 58 years. TALUS La Quinta is set to become the first five-star, five-diamond resort community in the Valley, offering a level of service and product that currently doesn’t exist. Plus, buyers are able place their homes into the resort’s rental pool. This—along with the lack of current supply in the desert for home buyers—has created a frenzy of interest in the project.

“We have carefully crafted the TALUS La Quinta community—its ethos, offerings, and amenities—to appeal to a new type of buyer and cater to today’s traveler, who seeks an authentic, enriching lifestyle combined with a curated living experience,” said Robert Green, president and CEO of The Robert Green Company.

The branded luxury hotel at TALUS La Quinta will feature 134 casita-style guestrooms and suites, and the branded lifestyle hotel will offer an additional 200 guest rooms. Additional amenities at TALUS La Quinta include a 71,000-square-foot conference center with outdoor event venues, a golf course, a new 10,000-square-foot golf clubhouse, an 18,000-square-foot full-service spa, and multiple culinary outlets.

The first phase of the branded single-family homes will be delivered late 2022, concurrent with the new golf clubhouse, and the branded luxury hotel is scheduled for completion in Spring 2023. Construction for the branded condominiums is set to begin later this year, with delivery of the first condo building in Spring 2023.

TALUS La Quinta has already taken reservations and deposits for 100% of its first phase of its real estate. With its with high-end, state of the art homes with a focus on contemporary desert design and architecture, the development is setting a new bar that has never been seen before in the Valley with buyers lining up for the second phase to be released.

“This has been a record-breaking year for real estate in the Coachella Valley, and we are thrilled to see such strong pre-sale success at TALUS La Quinta,” said Jeff Yamaguchi, VP of Real Estate for The Robert Green Company. “La Quinta has been an iconic destination for almost 100 years and, even today, it remains a haven for generations of outdoor enthusiasts. Unlike traditional gated golf communities in the desert, TALUS La Quinta will offer its residents a complete array of luxury hospitality services and amenities for turn-key resort living.”

Like many hot real estate markets around the United States, the Coachella Valley is seeing home prices soar and sales skyrocket. The desert—with its open, spacious and active lifestyle—has become an attractive alternative to parts of Southern California for those looking to relocate. The record high prices and record low inventory is especially true in the high-end category of luxury resort communities where there is a lack of new product, which is currently giving TALUS La Quinta an edge.

The TALUS brand was selected for its literal meaning: “a gathering or collection of rock fragments at the base of a mountain.” TALUS will be an assemblage of storied hospitality brands, vibrant real estate offerings, and resort services that will set a new bar for mixed-use resort developments in the Coachella Valley.
