Conor McGregor - Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey

Conor McGregor is as a true Irishman, and it takes one to know a proper Irish whiskey.

Over the years, multiple whiskey brands approached the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Champion for an endorsement, but like everything else in his life, he wanted to do it his way and do it right.

McGregor decided to create a whiskey he could be proud of, matching his high standards inside and outside the ring. He spent years looking for the right distillery and the right people, finding both in the oldest distillery on the isle of Ireland and a former Guinness malt master, David Elder.

Since the early 1600’s, the distillery McGregor selected has been creating its unique spirits from the waters of Saint Columb’s Rill that flow through the alkaline-saturating limestone and basalt on their way to Sphagnum peat lands, acquiring the flavor that has been prized for centuries. Proper Twelve is a “Proper” whiskey and the number twelve pays homage to McGregor’s home town of Crumlin located in Dublin’s District 12, Loyalty, hard work and family.

Over three years in the making, scores of blends sampled and ultimately the proper one was chosen to be loved by connoisseurs to entry-level whiskey drinkers. Triple distilled followed by aging in oak barrels delivering a delicious and smooth taste. Master Distiller & Master of Malt David Elder, previously of Guinness, brought the authentic know-how and worked with McGregor tirelessly to create the Proper Twelve blend. Crafted from Ireland’s finest golden grains and single malt.

This is NOT a “grain only” blend. The fine single malt blended with the golden grain delivers a properly balanced liquid. Aroma: On the nose, delicious green apple.
